A New Beginning
Location:
White Rock, BC
A favorite client and friend came to Hygrove Design to help rebuild and refurnish his condominium after a devastating fire in 2022. The circumstances were tragic, but there was an opportunity to recreate and reconfigure the space by eliminating some walls and making it a much more open layout. A shared love of antiques and unique spaces are reflected in every area of this home. A stunning mural in the entry and hallway and another in the bedroom are the anchors of this entire project. The mirrored French doors in the narrow hallway create the illusion of more space making it seem like the mural continues on into other rooms. The ceilings are painted a very pale blue that adds height to the space.
Traditional European elements were used when designing the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and hardware. Two large pantries in the kitchen are hidden behind curtained cabinet doors. Extra storage and a small office space are tucked behind doors the seamlessly blend into the rest of the panel moulding in the dining room.
